Uttarnchal Group Pty Ltd, trading as Curry Club, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis for a 3-year position.
Location: 84 Elizabeth Street, Launceston TAS 7250
Salary: $80,000 per annum + Superannuation
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring consistency in food quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes in line with restaurant standards
• Plan menus and contribute to new dish development
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
• Manage kitchen operations including food preparation and cooking processes
• Monitor food quality, storage, and stock rotation
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with regulations
• Supervise and train kitchen staff when required
• Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies
• Ensure efficient use of ingredients and minimise wastage
• Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times
Skills & Requirements:
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef
• Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices
• Good communication skills
