Next Gen Unlimited is a disability support and supported accommodation provider offering quality care services to NDIS participants across Victoria. The organisation operates group housing facilities where residents are provided with daily support services, including nutritious and culturally diverse meals tailored to individual dietary and health requirements. Due to ongoing growth, Next Gen Unlimited is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join its team on a full-time basis.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing nutritious and well-balanced meals for residents within supported accommodation facilities while ensuring food quality, hygiene, dietary compliance, and efficient kitchen operation
Preparing and cooking a variety of meals to meet the dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs of residents
Planning meal preparation schedules to ensure meals are delivered efficiently and on time
Assisting with menu planning and adapting meals based on dietary requirements and allergies
Monitoring food quality, portion control, and presentation standards
Ensuring ingredients and prepared food are stored safely and in accordance with food safety regulations
Inspecting food supplies and checking freshness and quality of ingredients before use
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, utensils, and cooking equipment
Assisting with stock ordering, stock rotation, and inventory management to minimise wastage
Coordinating meal preparation with support staff to ensure smooth daily operations within the facility
Following workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining compliance with food hygiene standards
Assisting with preparation for special events, group meals, and seasonal menu requirements when required
Minimum Cert III qualification in Commercial cookery
One year of industry experience
Experience preparing meals in a commercial kitchen, healthcare, aged care, or community care environment preferred
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to prepare meals for varying dietary and nutritional requirements
Good organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
Reliable, compassionate, and able to work in a fast-paced care environment
