The Mukinbudin Hotel Motel (Elachbutting Enterprises Pty Ltd) is seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to overseeing the delivery of a high-quality food to customers. The role of the Cook/Chef has a high level of autonomy and scope and includes regular liaising with the Restaurant Manager. 

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Cook/Chef is responsible for the operational running of the kitchen in the restaurant and providing the highest standard of food at all times. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborates with the head chef to direct food preparation.
  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Produces high-quality plates, considering both design and taste.
  • Ingredients and equipment, inventory control and supply management
  • Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and supervise them as required.
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Keeps Stations Clean and complies with food safety standards
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
  • Working closely with restaurant manager to run the kitchen and restaurant in a great standard. 

QUALIFICATIONS/ WORK EXPERIENCE: 

  • Have at least a relevant AQF level Certificate IV or above in cookery/ hospitality related field
  • Minimum 1 years work experience as a Cook/Chef is essential 
  • Experience within a fast-paced restaurant and experience in Hotel / Pub is advantageous. 

SKILLS

  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays 
  • Exception organisational and leadership skills. 
  • Dependable and reliable. 
  • Excellent inter-personal / oral communication and customer service skills 
  • Ability to lead and motivate 
  • Excellent organizational and management skills 
  • Ability to handle challenging situations and problem solve

Salary Range

Depending on the Skills and experience, the salary range for this position is between $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
