Pastry Cook

At Dunsborough Bakery (DUNSBOROUGH BAKERY (WA) PTY LTD), we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional house-made patisserie and bakery products made fresh daily. 

As a Pastry Cook, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced team member who is passionate about producing high-quality patisserie items using fresh and local ingredients.

In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, assembly, baking, finishing, and presentation of our house-made patisserie range, ensuring consistency, quality, and food safety standards are maintained at all times.

The Role

Location: Dunsborough, Western Australia

Contract Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and produce a range of house-made patisserie products, including cakes, tarts, slices, pastries, desserts, creams, custards and fillings. 
  • Prepare pastry bases, tart shells, sponges, laminated doughs, mousses and decorative components. 
  • Assemble, bake, finish and decorate patisserie items to ensure consistency, quality and presentation standards. 
  • Follow established recipes, portion control requirements and bakery production schedules. 
  • Monitor baking, cooling, setting and finishing processes to achieve high-quality results. 
  • Ensure all products comply with food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements. 
  • Maintain freshness, product rotation and stock control using FIFO procedures. 
  • Operate bakery and patisserie equipment safely and efficiently. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area. 
  • Work collaboratively with the bakery team and assist with new products or seasonal offerings where required.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Pastry Cook, Patisserie Cook or similar production role.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry and patisserie production techniques.
  • Experience preparing cakes, tarts, pastries, creams, fillings, and dessert items.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality presentation.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
